Speaking on "Mad Dog Sports Radio," Jones declared that he remains fully convinced that Prescott has the capabilities to guide the Cowboys to a Super Bowl title. He lauded Prescott's work ethic, leadership qualities, and dedication to the team's success.

"I totally think Dak can lead us to a championship," Jones stated. "He does everything the right way. He's certainly the leader of this football team – he keeps everybody motivated in the offseason. He's got everybody working out and doing all the things that it takes to put in the work to give yourself every opportunity to win a championship."

Despite the Cowboys' recent playoff struggles, Jones highlighted the team's consistent success in the regular season under Prescott's leadership. He pointed to the Cowboys' 12-game winning streaks in each of the past three seasons, emphasizing that they have been consistently competitive at the top level.

"We've had some tough breaks and tough games there in the postseason, but we've won 12 games three years in a row – I think that's right at the top in terms of what teams have done over a three-year period," Jones said. "We're hanging around the rim, we've just gotta go up there and grab it – to use a basketball term – and dunk it in. We're hanging around the rim, we just gotta get the job done."

Prescott's current contract is set to expire at the end of the upcoming season. During a pre-draft press conference, owner Jerry Jones expressed the Cowboys' desire to retain Prescott's services long-term. However, according to a report by ESPN, recent extension talks have been described as either "passive or even nonexistent."

Despite the rumors surrounding the contract situation, Stephen Jones has made it clear that the Cowboys remain committed to Prescott as their franchise quarterback. With training camp approaching, it remains to be seen whether the two sides can reach an agreement on a contract extension before the season begins.
