Amidst contract limbo for both coach and quarterback, Dallas Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy is said to be weary of the franchise's direction, casting doubt over the team's stability and playoff aspirations.

The Dallas Cowboys are navigating a precarious offseason, marked by contract uncertainties and reported internal turmoil. Head coach Mike McCarthy and quarterback Dak Prescott, both in the final years of their respective deals, face an uncertain future with the organization.

According to a recent report by Tyler Dunne of Go Long, McCarthy has grown weary of the Dallas front office, particularly the influence of owner Jerry Jones. An anonymous former Cowboys personnel member confided in Dunne, "He's doing it the best he can. Some of the people I've talked to have said that he's getting fed up with it a little bit."

The personnel man also expressed sympathy for Prescott, noting, "It's hard. I feel bad for Dak. I think Dak's a really good quarterback who is capable of taking a team to the Super Bowl. He's got to overcome a lot of things."

Despite three consecutive playoff appearances under McCarthy, the Cowboys have failed to advance beyond the divisional round. Last season's disappointing Wild Card loss to the Green Bay Packers, coupled with another 12-5 record, has left Jones seeking greater success.

Jones's recent roster moves, including letting go of running back Tony Pollard and center Tyler Biadasz, have also raised eyebrows. Compounding the uncertainty is the report that "current players are more concerned about Jerry Jones than their own head coach," creating an uncomfortable locker room atmosphere.

"So, that means you can get a talented team like they've had, but they're going to underachieve when the coaches can't influence the players the way they need to," the former personnel member said.

The Cowboys' hopes for a Super Bowl run rest on the shoulders of McCarthy and Prescott. While they possess a skilled roster, the internal dynamics and contract negotiations could prove detrimental to their playoff aspirations.

If the Cowboys stumble this season, particularly without a contract extension for McCarthy, Jones's desire for a championship could lead to internal conflict. The Cowboys' legacy, last crowned Super Bowl victors in 1995, hangs in the balance of this uncertain period.

Cowboys fans anxiously await the team's response to these reports, hoping for stability and a path towards the elusive Lombardi Trophy. However, if the rumors prove true, the Cowboys face an uphill battle to overcome the organizational unrest and deliver on their playoff promises.
