Las Vegas Raiders wide receiver Davante Adams has sparked speculation about his future with the team after posting cryptic messages on Instagram referencing Edgar Allan Poe and the Baltimore Ravens.
Las Vegas Raiders wide receiver Davante Adams has set tongues wagging with a series of Instagram posts that have some wondering if he is hinting at a possible trade.
On Friday, Adams posted a still photo of poet Edgar Allan Poe, who is known for his poem "The Raven." The Ravens, of course, are the Baltimore NFL team. Later, he posted a quote attributed to the poet that read, "Believe nothing you hear and half of what you see."

These posts have fueled rumors that Adams may be looking to leave the Raiders, especially given that it has been reported that he has requested a trade. He was also rumored to be traded last season as the Raiders struggled under former head coach Josh McDaniels.
The Raiders have reportedly told teams they would "consider" trading Adams if a second-round pick were involved in a package, as well as additional compensation.

Adams' cryptic Instagram posts come after Raiders head coach Antonio Pierce was spotted liking an Instagram post suggesting that Adams has played his final game with Las Vegas.
Adams has not been available for the Raiders this past Sunday in the win over the Cleveland Browns, as he is considered week-to-week with a hamstring injury. He's been declared out this week, as well.

Through three games this season, Adams has 18 receptions for 209 yards and a touchdown. He is currently playing with quarterback Gardner Minshew, as the Raiders have had a carousel of quarterbacks this season, including Jimmy Garoppolo and Aidan O’Connell.
Adams' future with the Raiders remains uncertain, but his latest Instagram posts certainly add fuel to the speculation that he could be on his way out.
In addition to the Ravens, Adams has also been linked to a potential reunion with former Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers, who now plays for the New York Jets. However, it remains unclear if the Raiders would be willing to trade Adams to a division rival.
The Raiders are currently 1-2 on the season and face the Denver Broncos in Week 4. It remains to be seen if Adams will be healthy enough to play in that game, and if he does, whether he will be wearing a Raiders uniform for much longer.
