David Boreanaz, the beloved star of "SEAL Team," has opened up about the arduous physical demands of filming the military drama, which has left him with lasting injuries and an uncertain future. After starring as Jason Hayes in the series since 2017, Boreanaz has announced that the upcoming season will be his last, as his body has reached its limit.

One particularly challenging stunt involved Boreanaz carrying a 250-lb stunt double on his back. "Ten feet in, I hit a rock, and my ankle twists, and I fall flat down," he recalled. "My ankle is ballooning, but I had to keep going. You learn from the SEALs how to push through pain — I’m talking guys who have had their arm blown off and are cracking jokes because that’s how they deal with it. It’s very intense."

Despite his dedication, Boreanaz's body has begun to show signs of wear and tear. "I take good care of myself, but it gets to a point where your body’s not moving like it used to... I think I’ve had four MRIs in the past four months, for my knees, hips, shoulders," he said. "It’s been quite a journey."

Navy SEALs have expressed their gratitude to Boreanaz and the "SEAL Team" cast for their accurate representation of elite military members. However, despite his passion for the role, Boreanaz has decided to step down after the upcoming season.

"I have plans," he hinted. "My work ethic is always head on a swivel, be in the now, don't look back, don't look far down the pipeline."

After a non-stop career since the 1990s, including starring roles in "Buffy the Vampire Slayer," "Angel," and "Bones," Boreanaz is planning to take a much-needed break. "Vacations are good until, like, the second day, and then I’m bouncing my knees thinking about what we’re going to do next," he said, adding that he intends to spend more time with his children, Jaden and Bella.

"My mind is always actively going. Work to me is relaxation, it fulfills me," Boreanaz said. However, he acknowledged that his future remains uncertain, as the physical toll of filming has taken its toll. Boreanaz's departure from "SEAL Team" will mark the end of an era, leaving fans to speculate about the show's future without its iconic star.
