For the second consecutive offseason, the University of Colorado has had the most college football players transferring in and out of its program. Despite high expectations, the Buffaloes continue to struggle to find success under head coach Deion Sanders.

The University of Colorado's football program is experiencing a tumultuous offseason once again, with a mass exodus of transfers leaving the team. For the second consecutive year, the Buffaloes have had the most players transfer in and out of their program, leading to a significant turnover in the roster.

Head coach Deion Sanders, who has yet to lead Colorado to a winning season, has implemented a demanding coaching style that has not been well received by all players. Star player Travis Hunter, who followed Sanders from Jackson State, has observed firsthand the challenges that his teammates face.

"They can't take the criticism. They can't take coaches getting on them. They can't take not being able to start right off the bat. They think everything is handed to them, and they can't take how they're getting treated," Hunter said in a recent interview with Fox News Digital.

Hunter believes that Sanders' style prepares players for the NFL, but he acknowledges that it is not for everyone. "We gotta come in there with our socks high, be at meetings 15 minutes before they start. It's not necessarily advice he gives us, it's what he instills in us," Hunter said.

Despite the challenges, Hunter remains optimistic about the team's potential. He believes that if they can overcome adversity and improve their performance in close games, they can turn the program around. "Our record easily could've been switched," he said.

The Buffaloes begin their second season under Sanders on Thursday against North Dakota State as they attempt to put the roster turnover behind them and strive for success in the Big 12.

While Sanders' coaching style has received mixed reviews, he remains confident in his approach. "Everybody's gonna get treated the same. You get treated as who they are. A lot of people leave because they think they're just bigger than us, bigger than the school. And some people just see the grass is greener on the other side, so they take their chances," Sanders said.

Colorado's athletic director, Rick George, has expressed support for Sanders and believes that his leadership will eventually lead to success. "I'm not concerned about the number of transfers in or out. It's the quality of the players that we're bringing in," George said.

The Buffaloes will face a challenging schedule in 2024, including games against Texas, Oklahoma, and Kansas State. They will need to demonstrate significant improvement and develop a winning mentality if they are to make a mark in the Big 12.

As the season approaches, it remains to be seen whether Sanders' rigorous coaching style and roster turnover will pay off for the Buffaloes. However, one thing is clear: the program is in a state of flux, and the upcoming season will be a crucial test for both the coach and the team.
