Gary Humphreys, owner of Humphreys' Gun Shop in Del Rio, Texas, reports a significant increase in gun sales, particularly among women, as concerns over the border crisis escalate.

Amidst the ongoing border crisis that has plagued the Del Rio community, Texas, a local gun shop owner has witnessed a surge in firearm purchases, particularly among women. Gary Humphreys, the owner of Humphreys' Gun Shop, has been a fixture in Del Rio since 1973 and has observed a marked shift in his clientele since the implementation of the Biden-Harris administration's border policies.

"Since this border opened up, we're getting new people that never owned guns coming in and buying them," Humphreys told Fox News Digital. "Getting a lot of women that never owned a gun before coming in and buying them."

According to Humphreys, these women are primarily seeking handguns for self-defense amid the escalating concerns over border security. The sense of insecurity has intensified following an incident where someone attempted to break the front door of Humphreys' shop.

"It's pretty scary out there," Humphreys emphasized. "People that don't live on the border don't realize what is really happening."

The influx of firearm purchases reflects the growing anxiety among Del Rio residents over the border crisis, which Humphreys believes has persisted for three years since President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris took office.

"100% Trump," Humphreys exclaimed when asked about the potential return of former President Donald Trump to the White House to address the border issue. "If Trump is elected, he will reinstate the border policies of his administration."

A recent Fox News survey corroborates the heightened concerns about the border, with an increase in apprehension expressed by various demographic groups, including those under 30, Black voters, Democrats, Hispanic voters, and women. The survey also revealed that 71% of Americans place significant blame on the Biden administration's lack of border enforcement.

Despite the widespread concerns, Vice President Harris has stated her support for the bipartisan Senate border bill that Trump opposed. However, the bill has been criticized by some conservatives as insufficient to address the issue.

The surge in firearm purchases at Humphreys' Gun Shop underscores the growing unease among Del Rio residents over their safety and the perceived failure of the current administration to effectively secure the border. As the crisis persists, it remains to be seen how the government will respond to the concerns of those directly affected by the influx of illegal immigrants and the associated criminal activity.
