Former CNN analyst Bakari Sellers revealed that Democrats are furious with party leadership for pushing President Biden to withdraw from the race, fearing similar treatment for Vice President Kamala Harris.
Former South Carolina state lawmaker and CNN analyst Bakari Sellers has voiced the frustration of Democrat voters who blame party leadership for pressuring President Biden to end his re-election campaign. Sellers stated that his phone has been inundated with concerned Democrats who fear that Vice President Kamala Harris might be the next target.
"My phone is blowing up with people who are pissed off and the reason they're pissed off, is because they feel like people from on high pushed Joe Biden out the door," Sellers asserted on CNN Newsroom.

Democrats fear that Harris, who is widely expected to assume the mantle of party leadership after Biden's departure, could suffer the same fate. "A text that I just got from a friend was like, ‘if they pushed Joe Biden out the door. what are they going to do with Kamala Harris?' They will probably try to push her too," Sellers added.
Sellers expressed his disappointment with the "elders" in party leadership, such as Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer, for their role in Biden's withdrawal. "There's a great deal of fear out there and the people who've done the damage, the Nancy Pelosis, the Chuck Schumers those ’elders' in leadership. It would behoove us all if they came out and wrap their arms around Kamala Harris sooner rather than later," he emphasized.

Sellers urged these leaders to "save those celebratory mimosas for another day…" and to focus on supporting Harris.
Biden's announcement has been met with mixed reactions. Top Senate Democrat Chuck Schumer expressed admiration for Biden's decision, praising his selfless act for the sake of the party and the country. However, former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi reportedly conveyed concerns about Biden's electability in light of polls showing unfavorable outcomes against former President Trump.

The Trump campaign wasted no time in capitalizing on Biden's withdrawal, launching fundraising efforts within hours of the announcement. The campaign's email blast proclaimed, "Biden just suspended his campaign."
With Biden's departure, Harris is now widely regarded as the presumptive presidential nominee for the Democrats. Biden has offered his full support and endorsement, clearing a potential path for Harris to succeed him.
Despite Harris's apparent ascendance, Democrats face uncertainty as they navigate the upcoming presidential election. The party's leadership must navigate the transition and address the concerns of rank-and-file members who feel disenfranchised by Biden's withdrawal.
