MSNBC's Al Sharpton and CNN's Ana Navarro were among the pundits who took on prominent speaking roles at the Democratic National Convention, as the party sought to reach out to disaffected voters on the right.
The Democratic National Convention featured a prominent role for MSNBC and CNN personalities, as the party aimed to capitalize on the discontent among some former Republican voters.

CNN's Ana Navarro, who openly supports Democrats, hosted one evening of the convention, while former GOP Representative Adam Kinzinger of Illinois and former Georgia Lieutenant Governor Geoff Duncan also addressed the delegates.
Navarro, despite claiming to be a Republican, has drawn criticism from conservatives for her liberal views and support for Democrats. She has been a vocal critic of Trump, leading chants for Joe Biden on "The View" and referring to Kamala Harris as "Auntie Kamala."

Kinzinger has been an outspoken opponent of Trump and served on the January 6 House Select Committee. He has criticized the Republican Party for becoming a "cult" in support of Trump, whom he accused of inciting an insurrection.
Duncan urged Republicans to "dump Trump," accusing the party of becoming a "felonious thug." He has been critical of Trump's efforts to overturn the 2020 election results in Georgia.

MSNBC's Al Sharpton also took to the stage, introducing the "Central Park Five" and criticizing Trump's record on race. Sharpton has been a frequent guest on progressive network shows, including Maddow's program.
The liberal networks provided glowing coverage of the convention, with Maddow admitting that her hosts were "stamping and clapping" to Tim Walz's speech.
Other media figures featured at the convention included Jack Schlossberg, the grandson of President John F. Kennedy, who serves as a "political correspondent" for Vogue.
The Democratic Convention's embrace of media figures and "Never Trump" Republicans signals the party's strategy of reaching out to a broader range of voters, including those who may have been alienated by the former president's rhetoric and policies.
