OutKick host Tomi Lahren weighs in on the speculation that Democrats could replace Biden as their nominee if he struggles in debates and polls.
OutKick host Tomi Lahren joined "Fox & Friends First" to discuss the growing clamor within the Democratic Party over President Biden's performance in the polls and on the debate stage. Lahren asserted that it is "obvious" that the Democrats have a contingency plan in place to replace Biden should he continue to falter, a move she believes has been part of their strategy all along.
"It's been the plan from the beginning," Lahren said. "They know that Biden is not a strong candidate. He's old, he's gaffe-prone, and he's not inspiring to the Democratic base. They knew this when they nominated him, and they're just waiting for the right time to pull the trigger."
Democrats' Hidden Plan: Ousting Biden if He Flounders?
Lahren pointed to a recent poll by NPR/PBS News/Marist that showed Biden's support among independent voters has significantly improved, giving him a 50%-48% lead over former President Trump. However, she argued that this poll is an outlier and that Biden's overall numbers remain weak.
"Biden is still underwater in the polls," Lahren said. "He's barely ahead of Trump, and he's losing ground among key demographics, such as young voters and Hispanic voters. The Democrats know that they can't win with Biden as their nominee, and they're looking for a way to replace him."
Democrats' Hidden Plan: Ousting Biden if He Flounders?
Lahren speculated that the Democrats could replace Biden with Vice President Kamala Harris or Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg. Harris is a popular figure among the Democratic base, while Buttigieg is seen as a rising star within the party.
"Harris would be the obvious choice to replace Biden," Lahren said. "She's a woman of color, which would appeal to the Democratic base. Buttigieg would also be a strong candidate. He's young, he's articulate, and he has a strong track record as mayor of South Bend, Indiana."
Democrats' Hidden Plan: Ousting Biden if He Flounders?
Lahren stressed that Biden's removal from the ticket would be a major embarrassment for the Democratic Party. However, she believes that the Democrats are willing to take that risk in order to win the election.
"The Democrats are desperate to win the election," Lahren said. "They know that they can't win with Biden as their nominee, so they're willing to do whatever it takes to replace him. Even if it means embarrassing themselves in the process."
It remains to be seen whether the Democrats will actually replace Biden as their nominee. However, Lahren's comments reflect the growing speculation within the party over Biden's fitness to serve as president. If Biden continues to struggle in the polls and on the debate stage, the Democrats may have no choice but to find a new candidate.
