Fox News host Laura Ingraham highlights the Biden administration's lack of response to anti-Israel demonstrations on college campuses, suggesting that it stems from fear of alienating the left-wing base.

Democrats' Silence Amidst Anti-Israel Protests Raises Concerns

In a segment titled "Silence Speaks Volumes" on "The Ingraham Angle," Fox News host Laura Ingraham analyzed the Biden administration's conspicuous absence from the ongoing anti-Israel protests on college campuses. She argued that this silence is indicative of a deeper trend within the Democratic Party, which has become increasingly reliant on the support of the hard left.

Ingraham pointed out that the White House has been quick to condemn other forms of perceived discrimination, such as the recent anti-Asian violence, but has remained muted when it comes to the anti-Israel demonstrations. She suggested that this silence is motivated by a fear of upsetting the left-wing base of the party, which has become increasingly vocal in its support of the Palestinian cause.

"From Axios, the unofficial mouthpiece of the establishment, says, 'Democrats enter panic mode as Gaza protests erupt,'" Ingraham said. "One House Democrat saying, 'The longer they continue and the worse they get, the worse it's going to get for the election overall.'"

According to Ingraham, this fear has its roots in the Democrats' declining support among working-class voters.

"I think they're silent because over time their party became so out of touch with normal America," she said. "They lost so many working-class votes that now they really just can't afford to offend the hard left."

Ingraham's observations resonate with recent polling data, which indicates that the Democratic Party is facing a widening gap with middle-class and independent voters. In a Pew Research Center survey conducted in March, only 37% of registered voters identified with the Democratic Party, while 39% identified with the Republican Party. This represents a significant shift from 2019, when the Democratic Party held a 10-point advantage over the Republicans.

The anti-Israel protests on college campuses have served as a focal point for this growing divide between the Democratic Party and its moderate supporters. While some Democrats have condemned these protests as hateful and anti-Semitic, others have defended them as legitimate expressions of solidarity with the Palestinian people.

Ingraham's analysis suggests that the Biden administration's silence on this issue is a reflection of the party's internal struggle to balance the demands of its diverse constituencies. As the Democrats navigate this increasingly polarized political landscape, it remains to be seen how they will address the growing challenge of appeasing both the left and the center.
