CNN political commentator S.E. Cupp contends that President Biden's reluctance to withdraw from the presidential race stems from "delusion," as evidenced by Democrats leaking their conversations with him.

CNN political commentator S.E. Cupp has voiced her opinion that President Biden's resistance to numerous calls from Democrats to drop out of the presidential race arises from a state of "delusion." Cupp's assessment follows reports of Democratic lawmakers leaking their conversations with the president, indicating their inability to persuade him otherwise.

"Democrats are so eager to reach Joe Biden but have been unsuccessful, so they resort to leaking private discussions as an external strategy to triangulate and force him to recognize his campaign's reality," Cupp remarked. "Regrettably, his opposition appears to originate from a position of delusion rather than strength."

Cupp further elaborated that the open discussion of these private efforts highlights a sense of disconnect between Biden and the concerns raised by his own party. According to her, Biden dismisses polling data, fails to heed voters' skepticism about his presidential prospects, and underestimates the momentum gained by former President Donald Trump.

"The Democratic Party appears to be in disarray, while the Republican National Committee and Trump exhibit a sense of discipline and unity," Cupp added. "This is an extraordinary observation, considering the perceived chaos within the Democratic camp."

Democrats, Cupp argues, likely doubt Biden's ability to defeat Trump in the November election. Congressman Adam Schiff, a California Senate candidate and close ally of former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, has publicly urged Biden to withdraw from the race.

CNN's Kate Bedingfield, a former White House communications director under Biden, suggests Vice President Kamala Harris as a potential replacement nominee should the Democrats decide to replace Biden on the ticket.

"If they're going to switch, Kamala Harris should be the choice," Bedingfield said. "She has been a close collaborator with President Biden and enjoys substantial support across the Democratic Party."

Biden's future has come under scrutiny by several high-profile Democrats and media figures. Despite widespread concerns, Biden has expressed his determination to remain a presidential candidate, drawing a contrast between his policies and the Republican agenda.

"I am running for President of the United States," Biden stated. "Our campaign will continue, presenting a clear vision and contrasting it with the extremist views of Republicans."

A recent AP-NORC survey conducted between July 11 and 15 revealed that 70% of adults, including 65% of Democrats, believe Biden should withdraw and allow his party to nominate a different candidate. The same survey found that 57% of adults believe Trump should drop out of the race and allow his party to name a replacement. However, Trump maintains significant support within his party, with 73% of Republicans advocating for his continued participation in the race.
