Actor and star of the upcoming Reagan biopic, Dennis Quaid, expresses his deep pride in America and his faith in the wisdom of its people. Despite current challenges, Quaid believes that the United States remains a beacon of hope for the world.
Dennis Quaid, the award-winning actor and musician, is not only a talented artist but also a proud American. Quaid, who will soon portray the 40th president of the United States in a biopic about Ronald Reagan's life, holds his country in high regard.
Dennis Quaid: The Wisdom of the American People
"I was born in the greatest country ever to be on the Earth, to tell you the truth," Quaid said in an exclusive interview with Fox News Digital. "When you look at it, as flawed as it is, it's better than everything else that has come before."
Quaid's patriotism stems from his belief in the wisdom of the American people. "I really believe in the wisdom of the American people as a whole," he said. "We are the hope of the world, still."

However, Quaid also recognizes that the country faces challenges. On the Fourth of July, he issued a warning to his fellow citizens. "We just need to get our act together and start, you know, believing in ourselves again, because I believe that the president reflects the people," Quaid said. "We kind of get the president we deserve."
Quaid's upcoming role as Reagan has given him a unique perspective on the current state of America. "These times today are very much like what times were before Reagan took office," he said. "Inflation, struggles with foreign powers, and a sense of decline."

Yet, Quaid believes that the American spirit can overcome any obstacles. "Reagan helped us feel our purpose in this world, and what a successful presidency it was," he said. "And I'm just proud to be an American."
Quaid's initial hesitation to portray Reagan was rooted in fear. "Reagan was my favorite president personally, and he was also such a recognizable figure around the world," he said. "It was about feeling like I was going to be judged and feeling unworthy."

However, a visit to Reagan's Southern California ranch gave Quaid a deep understanding of the man behind the iconic image. "He was not a rich man, and there was a humility about him that was kind of the bedrock of who he was," Quaid said. "I felt him. I felt this core there."
Quaid's meticulous research included conversations with people who knew Reagan well. "They all said there was a part of Ronald Reagan that was unknowable, that was very private, that you just couldn't penetrate," Quaid said. "I think even Nancy felt that to a certain extent."

Quaid believes that Reagan's guiding light was his faith. "He governed as president, and also governor of California, on principle, not on the winds of change," he said. "Sometimes, those principles were very much in the minority, but it was those principles that guided him, that he was able to win the Cold War against the Soviets."
Quaid's portrayal of Reagan is sure to be a powerful and inspiring interpretation of one of America's most beloved presidents. His deep respect for the American people and his unwavering belief in the country's potential shine through in every word he speaks.
