A security guard was shot and injured early Tuesday morning while working at Drake's Toronto mansion, police said.

The shooting occurred at approximately 2 a.m. near the gate of Drake's home in the affluent Bridle Path neighborhood, according to Inspector Paul Krawczyk of the Integrated Gun and Gang Task Force in Canada.

The security guard, a male, was standing outside the gate when he was shot in an apparent drive-by shooting. He was taken to a nearby hospital in serious condition.

Drake, whose full name is Aubrey Drake Graham, was not home at the time of the shooting, police said.

Krawczyk said police are investigating the shooting and are looking for suspects. He said it is too early to determine a motive for the shooting.

The shooting comes amid a rap feud between Drake and Kendrick Lamar. The two rappers have been at odds for years, but only recently escalated their rivalry with a string of songs written against each other.

Last week, Lamar released "Not Like Us" with accompanying artwork including screenshots of Drake's Toronto mansion.

Krawczyk said police are aware of the feud but cannot confirm if it was the cause of the shooting.

Drake's mansion, known as "The Embassy," was built nearly 10 years ago with the help of designer Ferris Rafauli. The 50,000-square-foot estate is made of limestone, bronze, and exotic woods and includes an NBA regulation-size indoor basketball court.

The primary bedroom spans 3,200 square feet in addition to 1,100 square feet of covered terraces.

Representatives for Drake and Lamar did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital's request for comment.

The shooting has raised concerns about the safety of Drake and his family. In March, a man was arrested for trespassing on Drake's property.

Drake has also been the target of threats in the past. In 2018, a man was sentenced to five years in prison for threatening to kill Drake and his family.

The shooting has also sparked speculation about the possible involvement of organized crime. Drake has been linked to several alleged members of the Toronto-based gang the Dixon City Bloods.

However, police have not confirmed if organized crime was involved in the shooting.

The investigation into the shooting is ongoing.
