The iconic video game franchise is making a comeback in July, featuring a cover with top college football players Quinn Ewers, Travis Hunter, and Donovan Edwards.
Prepare for a nostalgic wave as EA Sports brings back its beloved College Football video game series this July. After a decade-long hiatus, the game will be available for play on July 19th.
This year's game features a dynamic cover showcasing three standout athletes: Quinn Ewers from Texas, Travis Hunter from Colorado, and Donovan Edwards from Michigan. Edwards played a pivotal role in Michigan's national championship victory with his impressive rushing touchdowns.
In addition to the cover athletes, the game also features Alabama quarterback Jalen Milroe, Georgia's Carson Beck, and Ohio State's Quinshon Judkins, highlighting the depth of talent in college football.
The College Football video game series has a rich history dating back to 1993 with the release of Bill Walsh College Football. The game has undergone several name changes over the years, including College Football USA and NCAA Football.
The series went on hiatus for a while due to disputes among EA, the NCAA, and college athletes. One of the key issues was the inability for cover athletes to be compensated for their image and likeness.
With the advent of name, image, and likeness rights, this year's College Football 25 marks a new era for the game. Players will now be accurately represented with their names and likenesses, enhancing the gameplay experience.
EA Sports initially announced the return of the game three years ago and even promised a release last summer. However, the game's release was postponed.
The last cover athlete for the College Football video game series was Denard Robinson of the Michigan Wolverines.
Stay tuned to Fox News Digital for the latest sports coverage, including updates on the upcoming College Football 25 video game release.
