Eggy Party, the hit Fall Guys-like game from developer NetEase, is set to host a collaboration with the popular Chinese mascot character Little Parrot BeBe. The collaboration will see exclusive cosmetic items added to the game themed after the diminutive bird, who is a popular subject for toys, merchandise and online promotions in NetEase's home nation of China.
During the event, set to run from May 3rd through to May 30th, players will be able to earn random rewards by spending in-game Shiny coins. This can net a variety of cosmetics such as the MOCA Backpack, Little Ghost Fan and Thick Eyebrow Glasses with which to decorate their character. There'll also be the addition of earnable emojis for participating in the Parrot Playtime event, as well as the addition of numerous in-game items to use, themed after the character.
Little Parrot BeBe is a popular character in China, and has been the subject of toys, merchandise and online promos. The collaboration with Eggy Party is likely due to the unique intersection of online culture and Eggy Party's accessibility as a mobile game.
Eggy Party is a free-to-play battle royale game that has been downloaded over 10 million times since its release in 2022. The game is similar to Fall Guys, but features unique characters and gameplay mechanics.
The collaboration with Little Parrot BeBe is likely to help bolster the game's popularity in China, already a significant market for mobile gaming. Eggy Party is one of the most popular mobile games in China, and the collaboration with Little Parrot BeBe is likely to further increase its popularity.
The collaboration is a win-win for both parties. Little Parrot BeBe gets to reach a new audience of players, while Eggy Party gets to tap into the popularity of one of China's most beloved characters.
The collaboration is a sign of the growing popularity of Chinese culture in the global gaming market. In recent years, we have seen a number of Chinese games and characters become popular in the West. This is likely to continue in the future, as Chinese developers continue to create high-quality games that appeal to a global audience.
