Eli Manning, the iconic former New York Giants quarterback, has responded to his conspicuous absence from Netflix's "Greatest Roast of All Time: Tom Brady" with a humorous twist. Manning took to Twitter to explain that he decided against attending the event because he didn't want to "roast" Brady for a third time.

Manning's absence was notable given his reputation as a long-time thorn in Brady's side on the football field. The Giants, led by Manning, famously defeated Brady and the New England Patriots in two Super Bowls, including Super Bowl XLII and Super Bowl XLVI. These losses represent two of Brady's five Super Bowl defeats.

Despite their intense rivalry on the field, Manning and Brady have maintained a respectful relationship off the field. Brady even acknowledged Manning and Giants fans during his speech at the roast, jokingly telling them to "F--- you."

Manning responded with his characteristic wit, posting on Twitter: "I thought about attending the Roast of Tom Brady last night, but I did not want to Roast him for a 3rd time!!"

While Manning was absent, his brother, Peyton Manning, did attend the roast and introduced Brady to the stage. Peyton Manning welcomed Brady to the stage before the seven-time Super Bowl winner showcased his comedic skills by roasting everyone present.

The roast featured an array of comedians, including Kevin Hart, who played a pivotal role in mediating between Bill Belichick and Robert Kraft, the former Patriots coach and owner. Hart convinced the two men to put aside their differences, at least temporarily, and take a shot together.

Kraft also took the opportunity to implore Russian President Vladimir Putin to return his Super Bowl ring, which had been confiscated during a visit to Russia in 2005.

The roast was a star-studded event, attended by numerous celebrities and athletes, including David Ortiz, Rob Gronkowski, and Julian Edelman. It provided a platform for Brady to showcase his sense of humor and reflect on his illustrious career.

While Eli Manning's absence may have been felt, it did not detract from the overall success of the event. Brady's ability to roast himself and others with self-deprecating humor made for an entertaining evening and a fitting tribute to one of the greatest quarterbacks of all time.
