The far-left is waging a war on American history, targeting the legacies of the Founding Fathers and symbols like Columbus Day. This campaign is causing a decline in celebrations and a distortion of past events.
As a child, I celebrated Columbus Day with enthusiasm, embracing its themes of adventure and discovery. However, over time, this day has become mired in controversy, fueled by protests primarily initiated on college campuses.
The movement to replace Columbus Day with "Indigenous Peoples' Day" gained momentum, condemning Christopher Columbus as a tyrant and destroyer of native populations. While recognizing the importance of celebrating indigenous people, I believe it should not diminish the historical significance of Columbus's explorations.

In 2017, Harvard University adopted "Indigenous Peoples' Day," following the lead of the Cambridge City Council's denunciation of Columbus as a war criminal. However, it is essential to question the objectivity of these left-leaning perspectives, given their selective use of history to impugn Trump's presidency.
Similarly, the far left is employing dubious tactics to smear the Founding Fathers, the 4th of July, and the American flag. They seek to cancel these symbols and their associated values, despite the Founding Fathers' profound contributions to the nation's founding principles.

They have mutually pledged to each other their lives, fortunes, and sacred honor, and risked everything to declare in their Declaration of Independence that all men are created equal and endowed by their Creator with unalienable rights, including life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.
While those who believe in the Founding Fathers' vision and genius still constitute a majority, we have too often ceded our voices to the left's silencing tactics. It is imperative to reclaim our voices and reassert our consent, lest we witness the decline of our freedoms and the erasure of our founding principles.

President Reagan's warning that freedom is only one generation away from extinction is becoming increasingly relevant. To reverse this trend, we must actively defend the 4th of July, the Founding Fathers, and the American flag.
As the number of Americans celebrating the true meaning of the 4th of July dwindles, it is time to speak out in defense of these sacred symbols. If we fail to do so, they will suffer the same fate as Columbus Day—a decline into obscurity and distortion.
