A concerned father in Flagler County, Florida, took swift action to protect his 14-year-old daughter from an alleged peeping Tom, wielding a Louisville Slugger to chase off the suspect.
Driven by an instinct to safeguard his daughter, a father in Flagler County, Florida, took matters into his own hands when he chased off an alleged prowler. The incident, captured on surveillance footage, culminated in the suspect's arrest.
It was the second time in two days that the suspected peeping Tom had been observed on the family's property. On Friday, the father noticed the man peering into his daughter's window. Without hesitation, he shouted obscenities at the suspect and swung his baseball bat, prompting the man to flee.

As the suspect ran down Pine Hill Lane, the vigilant father pursued him, brandishing his Louisville Slugger while calling out to neighbors for assistance. "Call the cops... somebody call the cops," he shouted. "Where you going, boy? Come here... come here... I got something for you."
Swiftly, the family contacted the Flagler County Sheriff's Office. The suspect, identified as 29-year-old Damon Arthur Smith, was apprehended shortly thereafter. During interrogation, Smith confessed to being on the victim's property, admitting that he derived a thrill from lurking around people's homes.

Upon his arrest, Smith wore a peculiar Michael Myers tee-shirt emblazoned with the phrase "EVERYONE IS ENTITLED TO ONE GOOD SCARE." The family expressed concern that Smith's choice of attire hinted at possible sinister intentions.
"I don't know what his intentions are... if it was something that was going to escalate over time, and that [Michael Myers] was his role model or what, but we might have got him just in time," the father remarked.

Flagler County Sheriff Rick Staly commended the father's actions while emphasizing the importance of reporting suspicious behavior. "This pervert said he gets excitement from peeping into other people's windows, but this time he came across a father protecting his daughter," Staly said.
Damon Arthur Smith now faces charges of loitering or prowling, voyeurism – first offense, and aggravated stalking of a person under 16. His criminal history includes a bomb threat made at Flagler Palm Coast High School when he was 18 years old.
Currently detained at the Sheriff Perry Hall Inmate Detention Facility, Smith is held on an $86,000 bond. This incident serves as a reminder of the importance of vigilance, especially when it comes to protecting our loved ones from harm.
