One week after Thomas Matthew Crooks opened fire at a Pennsylvania rally wounding former President Donald Trump and killing a bystander, men who appear to be FBI agents were seen canvassing his neighborhood.

Thomas Matthew Crooks' neighborhood in Bethel Park, Pennsylvania, became the focus of intense scrutiny on Saturday as two men suspected to be FBI agents were spotted knocking on doors, seeking information about the shooter.

Witnesses reported seeing the men emerge from a small black SUV, clutching documents and walking towards Crooks' parents' residence. A box bearing the label "FBI ETHICS POCKET GUIDE" was visible in the vehicle's rear.

The FBI, which is heading the investigation into the failed assassination attempt, has not disclosed the exact nature of its inquiries but has acknowledged that it is attempting to determine Crooks' motive and uncover any potential accomplices.

Crooks, 20, has been described as a loner with a passion for gaming but no apparent political affiliations. His online search history, however, revealed searches for Trump, President Joe Biden, and future campaign events prior to the shooting.

He also reportedly searched for Ethan Crumbley, the Michigan high school shooter who killed four students and injured seven in 2021. Crumbley is currently serving a life sentence without the possibility of parole.

The FBI's extensive investigation has involved conducting over 200 interviews and examining thousands of images from Crooks' cell phone. Authorities are particularly interested in any evidence that might shed light on his mental health or any potential connections to extremist groups.

Meanwhile, U.S. Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle is set to testify before the House Oversight Committee on Monday, facing questions about her agency's handling of the assassination attempt. Cheatle has maintained that she will not resign despite mounting pressure from lawmakers calling for her removal.

The investigation into the Trump rally shooting is still in its early stages, with many questions remaining unanswered about Crooks' motivations and how he managed to penetrate the rally's security measures. The FBI's presence in his neighborhood is a sign that the investigation is continuing at full speed as authorities work to unravel the circumstances surrounding the attack.
