A Florida man has been arrested after he allegedly stole a car with a child in the back seat before abandoning her on the side of the road. The suspect, identified as 30-year-old John Doe, was taken into custody shortly after the incident occurred on Monday evening. The child, a 2-year-old girl, was unharmed and has been reunited with her family.

According to the Broward County Sheriff's Office, Doe approached the victim's car at a gas station in Pompano Beach and asked for a ride. The victim, a 23-year-old woman, agreed and allowed Doe to get in the back seat with her daughter.

After driving for a short distance, Doe allegedly pulled out a knife and demanded that the victim get out of the car. The victim complied, and Doe drove away with the child still in the back seat.

The victim immediately called 911, and deputies were able to locate the stolen car a short time later. Doe was arrested and charged with kidnapping and carjacking.

The child was found safe and unharmed on the side of the road. She was taken to a local hospital for evaluation and has since been reunited with her family.
