As a result, Davenport was taken into custody and charged with criminal possession of a loaded firearm, possession of an ammo feed device, and having tinted windows. The other individual accompanying Davenport reportedly avoided prosecution.

Davenport's legal aid attorney raised concerns about search issues related to the case, as reported by the New York Post. However, Davenport declined to comment as he exited jail.

The arrest occurred shortly after Davenport declared for the NBA Draft in April. However, he went undrafted.

During his collegiate career, the highest point per game average came during the 2021-22 season with the Cincinnati Bearcats, where he averaged 13.4 points per game in 32 starts.

In his final season with the Arkansas Razorbacks, Davenport averaged 5 points per game in 31 appearances.

Despite being passed over in the NBA Draft, Davenport has expressed hope of continuing his basketball career, potentially overseas.

The incident highlights the ongoing issue of gun violence and related arrests among young individuals in the United States. It also serves as a reminder of the importance of responsible firearm handling and the legal consequences associated with illegal possession of weapons.
