Mahomes' wife, Brittany, took to Instagram to criticize those who spread hate online, while Belichick criticized the media for its coverage of his team.

Brittany Mahomes, the wife of Kansas City Chiefs star quarterback Patrick Mahomes, has taken to social media to slam her "haters." The outspoken wife of the Super Bowl MVP posted a scathing message on her Instagram story Friday afternoon, calling out those who spread hate online.

"I mean honestly, To be a hater as an adult, you have to have some deep-rooted issues you refuse to heal from childhood," she wrote. "There's no reason your brain is fully developed and you hate to see others doing well."

The post came after social media users linked the hate to her social media activity. Screenshots and a screen-recorded video indicated she liked a post on Instagram that outlined the "2024 GOP platform." However, a review of the post later by Fox News Digital could not find her account among the 400,000-plus "likes" on the post.

Supporters of Brittany's message were quick to point the finger at Taylor Swift fans. Several Swift fan accounts circulated the screenshots on social media, voicing their displeasure. Swift dates Patrick's teammate, Travis Kelce.

Swift and Brittany Mahomes attended several Chiefs games throughout the season. The two even went out to eat together in New York City during the NFL season. As of publishing, Brittany still follows Swift on Instagram (Swift does not follow anybody).

Swift has publicly supported Democratic candidates in the past, including an endorsement of Joe Biden in 2020.

In a separate incident, former New England Patriots coach Bill Belichick criticized the media for its coverage of his team. Belichick, who was recently elected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame, said the media focused too much on the negative aspects of his team.

"I think the media has a tendency to focus on the negative," Belichick said. "They like to talk about the things that are wrong with a team, rather than the things that are right."

Belichick's comments came after the Patriots lost their first two games of the season. The Patriots have since rebounded to win two straight games, but Belichick said the media still needs to do a better job of focusing on the positive.

"We're a good football team," Belichick said. "We're going to make some mistakes, but we're going to learn from them and we're going to get better."
