FOX will broadcast three captivating Major League Baseball matchups on Saturday, featuring the Angels taking on the Mariners, the Cardinals facing the Phillies, and the Reds clashing with the Cubs.
FOX has an exciting lineup of prime-time MLB matchups on tap for Saturday, promising thrilling action for baseball enthusiasts.
The surging Cardinals, who have won seven of their last eight games, will test the might of the Philadelphia Phillies, who boast the best record in baseball.
St. Louis' resurgence has been anchored by Paul Goldschmidt, who has rebounded from a slow start to hit .302 with a remarkable .603 slugging percentage since May 12. The Phillies, meanwhile, have been firing on all cylinders without star shortstop Trea Turner (hamstring). Third baseman Alec Bohm has been a standout, driving in a league-leading 47 runs.
On the mound, the Cardinals will send out Sonny Gray (2.60 ERA) against Ranger Suárez (1.75 ERA) of the Phillies, setting the stage for a pitching duel of the highest caliber.
Both the Cincinnati Reds and Chicago Cubs are eager to turn their seasons around after sluggish starts.
Cincinnati's hopes rest on the shoulders of young starter Hunter Greene (3.06 ERA), who has impressed with his early performances. Andrew Abbott has also shown promise, looking to build on his stellar debut season. The Reds' offense is led by Elly De La Cruz, who has an astonishing 31 stolen bases.
For Chicago, rookie Shōta Imanaga has emerged as a reliable starter with a 1.86 ERA, while Javier Assad and Jameson Taillon have also been solid. The Cubs' offense has struggled to keep pace, ranking near the bottom of the league in OPS.
The Los Angeles Angels, mired in last place in the AL West, will face the Seattle Mariners, who sit atop the division standings.
The Angels have been buoyed by the contributions of Kevin Pillar (1.188 OPS in 18 games) and Tyler Anderson (2.47 ERA in 11 starts). The Mariners, on the other hand, have relied on their pitching to stay competitive. Bryce Miller (3.48 ERA) will take the mound for Seattle, while Reid Detmers (5.76 ERA) will start for the Angels.
Seattle's offense has been underwhelming, ranking 28th in team OPS. However, the team's pitching staff has excelled, compiling a 3.58 ERA. Logan Gilbert, Luis Castillo, and Miller have all pitched at a high level, but the Mariners have indicated a willingness to trade one of their prized arms for a power bat.
