An armed and dangerous man suspected of opening fire near Interstate 75 in Kentucky remains on the run, leading to a massive manhunt involving multiple law enforcement agencies.

Joseph A. Couch, a 32-year-old suspect, has evaded authorities for over 48 hours after allegedly firing 20 to 30 rounds near exit 49 of Interstate 75 on Saturday evening. The gunfire struck 12 vehicles, but no fatalities have been reported.

An affidavit filed by the Laurel County Sheriff's Office reveals chilling texts sent by Couch to his ex-wife, threatening to kill numerous individuals and end his own life afterward.

Authorities describe the search as a "methodical effort similar to hide and seek," with State Trooper Scottie Pennington urging residents to stay vigilant and report any suspicious activity. Pennington emphasized that Crouch has military experience as a combat engineer, enhancing his survival skills.

The wooded area where the suspect is believed to be hiding is described as a "jungle" with cliffs, caves, and sinkholes, complicating the search efforts. Pennington urged, "If you see something that looks strange... back out and call somebody."
