Garrison Brown, the son of "Sister Wives" stars Kody and Janelle Brown, died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head, as confirmed by the final autopsy report obtained by Fox News Digital. Alcohol poisoning was also identified as a contributing factor.
The Coconino County Medical Examiner has determined that Garrison Brown, the son of "Sister Wives" stars Kody and Janelle Brown, died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head. The final autopsy report obtained by Fox News Digital also revealed that ethanol intoxication, or alcohol poisoning, contributed to his death.
Garrison's blood alcohol content was 0.307%, significantly above the legal limit for alcohol intoxication in the United States, which is 0.08%.
The news of Garrison's death was first announced by his parents on March 5. In a statement shared on social media, Kody and Janelle expressed their deep sorrow and described him as a "bright spot" in the lives of those who knew him.
"His loss will leave such a big hole in our lives that it takes our breath away," the statement read. They requested privacy and asked for support in honoring Garrison's memory.
TLC, the network that airs "Sister Wives," also confirmed Garrison's passing and extended its condolences to the Brown family.
"We are devastated to hear of the tragic loss of Garrison Brown," TLC said in a statement. "We extend our deepest sympathies and heartfelt condolences to the Brown family at this difficult time."
Flagstaff Police responded to a 911 call on March 5 and found Garrison's deceased body.
"It is with great sadness I confirm Mr. Robert Garrison Brown was located in his residence deceased, as a result of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound," Flagstaff Police Department Sgt. J.L. Rintala told Fox News Digital.
"At this time there is not any indication of foul play, and detectives from the Criminal Investigations Division are investigating," Rintala added.
Garrison Brown, 27, is survived by five full siblings: Madison, Logan, Gabriel, Hunter, and Savanah, as well as several half-siblings through Kody's other marriages.
Janelle Brown has spoken publicly about her struggle to cope with Garrison's death in a post shared on social media.
"It's been hard to get my brain to work properly again," Janelle wrote on Instagram. "I am so grateful for the outpouring of love and support I've received these last three weeks. The support has been overwhelming. I am honored."
She expressed her appreciation for the stories and thoughts shared by others who have experienced similar losses.
"So many of you shared stories of your loved ones. So many of you wrote of your thoughts and prayers," Janelle wrote. "Thank you from the bottom of my heart."
Kody and Janelle's life is featured on the reality TV show "Sister Wives," which follows Kody's polygamist relationships. Janelle and Kody "spiritually" married in 1993, later separating in 2022.
