Garth Brooks shared his unwavering love for his wife, Trisha Yearwood, and how their time working together on The Friends in Low Places bar tested their bond.
Garth Brooks is a legendary country music icon with countless hits and millions of albums sold, but his personal life has also been marked by controversies. However, when it comes to his relationship with Trisha Yearwood, Brooks insists that there is nothing that could come between them.
"There is not a thing that God could invent that could keep us apart," Brooks declared in an exclusive interview with Fox News Digital. This unwavering love has been tested, but only strengthened, through the experiences they've shared.

One such experience was the opening of their honky-tonk bar, The Friends in Low Places, in Nashville, Tennessee. Working together on this project brought them closer than ever, demonstrating their ability to navigate challenges together.
"Opening this place, I've never seen my wife work so hard," Brooks said, "but we had to lean on each other. It did test us, but it tested us in a way that made us stronger, more appreciative of each other."

Despite their strong bond, Brooks' reputation has been tarnished by allegations of sexual assault and battery by a former makeup artist. Brooks vehemently denies the charges, calling them "hush money."
"We filed suit against this person nearly a month ago to speak out against extortion and defamation of character," Brooks said in a statement to Fox News Digital. "We filed it anonymously for the sake of families on both sides."

Beyond these allegations, Brooks has faced other controversies throughout his career. In 2023, he drew backlash for his comments about Bud Light, stating that he would sell every brand of beer at his bar. This stance was met with criticism from some fans.
However, Brooks has also had his share of personal struggles. He was previously married to Sandy Mahl from 1986 to 2001, with whom he has three daughters. In a recent documentary, Mahl shared her perspective on their marriage, revealing the toll his career took on their relationship.

Brooks has since expressed his regret for his past behavior and his newfound appreciation for Mahl's perspective. He and Yearwood have been married since 2005, and he credits her with making him a better man.
"I was lucky enough to get to marry my best friend," Brooks said of Yearwood. "She taught me how to be a better person."

Another controversy Brooks faced was the release of his music video for "The Thunder Rolls" in 1991, which depicted domestic violence. The video was banned by two networks, but went on to win the CMA video of the year award.
In 1992, Brooks released the song "We Shall Be Free," which addressed social issues such as homelessness and racism. He faced criticism for the music video's intense imagery, but it was eventually aired before the 1993 Super Bowl.

Brooks also created an alter ego, Chris Gaines, a fictional rock musician, in the late 1990s. While the character was met with confusion, Brooks scored a Billboard Top 40 pop single with the song "Lost In You."
Despite these controversies, Brooks remains a beloved figure in country music. His unwavering love for his wife, Trisha Yearwood, continues to inspire and support him through life's challenges. As he embarks on new projects, including the potential revival of his Chris Gaines character, Brooks continues to share his music and bond with his fans, proving that the bonds of love and passion can withstand the tests of time and adversity.
