The Georgia Bulldogs started slowly but ended up dominating the Clemson Tigers 34-3 in the opening game of the 2024 season. Quarterback Carson Beck led the Bulldogs, throwing for 278 yards and two touchdowns.
The Georgia Bulldogs, ranked number one in the country, proved their worth on Saturday in their opening game of the 2024 season against the fourteenth-ranked Clemson Tigers. After a slow start, the Bulldogs erupted for 28 points in the second half, leading to a dominating 34-3 victory.

Quarterback Carson Beck led the way for the Bulldogs, throwing for 278 yards and two touchdowns. He also rushed for 24 yards. In the absence of suspended star running back Trevor Etienne, freshman Nate Frazier stepped up with 83 yards on 11 carries and a touchdown.
London Humphreys and Colbie Young each caught a touchdown pass from Beck.

Clemson's offense struggled, generating just 188 total yards of offense while going 4-13 on third down conversions. Junior quarterback Cade Klubnik threw for 142 yards with an interception, and running back Phil Mafah was stifled for only 59 yards on 16 carries.
The victory was a statement for the Bulldogs, who showed why they are considered the top team in the country. They will look to build on their momentum next week at home against the Tennessee Tech Golden Eagles.

Finally, the USC Trojans had a disappointing start to the season, losing to the San Jose State Spartans 31-24. Caleb Williams threw for 381 yards and two touchdowns, but he also threw two interceptions.
