In 2022, Vause falsely stated to the FBI that Drexel maintained possession of her cellphone when, in reality, Vause had taken it and disposed of it in an undisclosed location between Georgetown and Charleston, South Carolina.
Vause also misrepresented Drexel's actions by claiming that she had joined her and Moody voluntarily to consume marijuana and cocaine when, in fact, Drexel was abducted under false pretenses.
