Israeli Special Operations veteran Aaron Cohen analyzes the crucial split-second decision that shielded the former president from a potentially life-ending bullet during his rally in Pennsylvania.

The shocking assassination attempt at former President Trump's outdoor campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, could have had a far more tragic outcome if not for a split-second decision by the former president, according to Israeli Special Operations veteran Aaron Cohen.

Cohen, a highly respected expert in security and combat tactics, meticulously analyzed the footage of the incident and concluded that Trump's head movement at the moment the shot was fired likely saved his life.

"God must have been watching down on the president," Cohen asserted. "Snipers are typically trained to shoot into the cerebral cortex of the cerebellum at the top of the brain stem. It incapacitates you, it keeps your hands from moving..."

Cohen emphasized that the distance of the shot, approximately 130 yards, rendered it relatively straightforward for a skilled shooter to execute. However, Trump's head was turned at a specific angle when the bullet struck, narrowly averting a direct hit to the cerebral cortex.

"It's very clear to me that had the president's head been straight, and if that round had gone into the ear, it would have been lights out," Cohen stated unequivocally. "The fact that he just happened to be turned this way with that shot coming in is what saved his life."

Cohen's analysis aligns with estimates from experts suggesting that the bullet grazed Trump's ear by mere centimeters, a distance that could have easily proved fatal.

In addition to his praise for Trump's fortuitous head movement, Cohen raised concerns regarding potential security failures surrounding the incident. However, he refrained from delving into a full-fledged critique of the Secret Service, which is responsible for the former president's protection.

Former FBI and Secret Service agents have expressed strong disapproval over the security arrangements, alleging that Trump should have been evacuated from the danger zone more expeditiously.

"Having worked with the Secret Service before, as I was watching this unfold, I could not believe how long this played out before they got him off of that stage into the car, and then it took that vehicle that long to depart that area," former FBI Special Agent Jonathan Gilliam asserted. "It was a lifetime from a protection standpoint."

Former Assistant FBI Director Chris Swecker echoed Gilliam's concerns, describing the response as "a breakdown from start to finish."

"The primary mission of the Secret Service is to prevent this type of action and then react as swiftly as they can to get him out of the danger zone. Neither happened here," Swecker said.

Retired Secret Service Agent Jeff James expressed his dismay over the slow response, noting that outdoor rallies pose inherent security challenges.

"Once they got to him, they should have grabbed him and [exited the stage]. He wanted to wait for his shoes. That's great, but no, we're going," James said. "If I had one criticism, that would be it. I would have liked to see him off the stage and into the armored vehicles more quickly."

Authorities have identified the suspected gunman as 20-year-old Pennsylvania native Thomas Matthew Crooks, who resided approximately an hour away from the rally site. The investigation into the assassination attempt is ongoing.
