Colorado Governor Jared Polis criticized former President Donald Trump's age and cognitive abilities, while expressing enthusiasm for Vice President Kamala Harris as the potential Democratic presidential nominee.

In an interview with CNN, Gov. Jared Polis, a Democrat from Colorado, sharply criticized former President Donald Trump, who is approaching 80 years old. Polis asserted that Trump "can barely get a sentence out" and is a relic of the past.

"The other side has a nominee that can barely get a sentence out. He’s approaching 80. He brings us back to the past," Polis said.

In contrast, Polis expressed excitement for Vice President Kamala Harris as the likely Democratic nominee. He praised Harris' experience as a prosecutor and her ability to identify with most Americans.

"We have somebody who’s about the future of our country, who’s put criminals behind bars, who knows firsthand how to do the job. And, frankly, can identify with most Americans in a way that President Trump just never could," Polis stated.

President Joe Biden, who is 81 years old, endorsed Harris on Sunday, leading to her becoming the frontrunner for the Democratic nomination. Polis believes that the race between Harris and Trump will be a stark contrast between a candidate looking to the future and one stuck in the past.

Polis acknowledged that it would be flattering to be considered as Harris' potential vice presidential pick, particularly given her reported preference for a governor. However, he emphasized that he is happy in his current role as Colorado governor.

"I love the job I‘m doing. You know, I love Colorado. It‘s great. Obviously, if somebody asked, I'd take a serious look at it, but my phone hasn‘t rung yet," Polis said.

Following Biden's endorsement, Harris' campaign announced a staggering $81 million in donations within 24 hours. This significant fundraising success further solidifies her status as a formidable candidate.

Harris has received endorsements from numerous prominent Democrats, including former Presidents Bill Clinton and Hillary Clinton, as well as former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi. These endorsements further bolster her credibility and support within the party.

Polis emphasized that the Democratic ticket will have a powerful vision for America's future, while Trump represents a return to divisive policies. He expressed eagerness to assist Harris in any way possible.
