Swing coach Ted Kiegel, another member of Murray's golf team, penned an emotional tribute, describing Murray as "family" and a "kindred spirit." Kiegel recalled their countless hours together over two decades, sharing triumphs and offering support through life's challenges.

"I’m absolutely numb and crushed for the loss of Grayson," Kiegel wrote. "He was family. He was more than family. We were kindred spirits – sharing so many victories ‘life moments’ while suffering through downturns that challenged his very essence. Leaning on each other, finding strength in each other. Having spent countless hours over 20+ years – we knew each other very well."

PGA Tour Commissioner Jay Monahan revealed that he had spoken with Murray's family on the day of his passing and suggested halting play in the Charles Schwab Challenge to allow for a collective mourning. However, Murray's parents requested that the tournament continue, with players donning red and black ribbons on their hats as a tribute to their son's beloved Sunday attire in the colors of his hometown NHL team, the Carolina Hurricanes.

In a poignant statement, Murray's parents expressed their devastation and questioned the circumstances of their son's death. "We have so many questions that have no answers. But one," they wrote. "Was Grayson loved? Yes. By us, his brother Cameron, his sister Erica, all of his extended family, by his friends, by his fellow players and – it seems – by many of you who are reading this. He was loved and he will be missed."

The golf community has rallied around Murray's family and friends, offering support and condolences. Grayson Murray's legacy as a talented golfer and a beloved companion will forever be etched in the hearts of those who knew him.
