Longshot Green Party presidential candidate Jill Stein has accused the Democratic National Committee (DNC) of attempting to undermine third-party competition by posting and then deleting a job for monitoring their activities. Stein alleged that the DNC intended to infiltrate their ranks and find ways to exclude them from the ballot.
Green Party presidential candidate Jill Stein has vehemently criticized the Democratic National Committee (DNC) for posting and then deleting a job position that aimed to monitor and potentially sabotage third-party candidates' campaigns. Stein accused the DNC of foul play, alleging an attempt to suppress competition and maintain their dominance in the political landscape.
The job posting in question, titled "Independent & Third Party Project Manager," was discovered by Stein and subsequently shared on her Twitter account. The responsibilities outlined in the job description included gathering "on-the-ground intelligence" on independent and third-party candidates, such as Stein, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., and Cornel West.
The prospective manager was tasked with informing the DNC about "ballot access progress," "campaign activity," "organizational strength," and "voter/grassroots enthusiasm." Moreover, they were required to "identify and activate in-state leaders and supporters" for specific program priorities. These responsibilities indicate an attempt to gather sensitive information about the strategies and operations of third-party campaigns.
Stein expressed her outrage at the DNC's actions, characterizing it as an affront to democracy. She questioned the DNC's commitment to fairness and transparency, suggesting that their true intentions were to hinder the efforts of alternative political voices.
"Wow. @TheDemocrats posted – then deleted – a job for a 'Third Party Project Manager' to infiltrate their competition and find ways to take us off the ballot," Stein tweeted on Friday. "Is this how they’re ‘saving democracy’?"
Fox News Digital attempted to retrieve the job posting on LinkedIn but found it inactive as of Sunday. A screenshot shared by Stein provides a glimpse into the specific responsibilities associated with the role.
The DNC has not yet responded to Fox News Digital's request for комментарий on the job posting or Stein's accusations.
Stein's criticism of the DNC's actions is rooted in her belief that the current political system is deeply flawed. She argues that the "two parties of war and Wall Street [that] are bought and paid for" have failed to represent the true interests of the American people.
In November, Stein announced her bid to seek the Green Party's nomination for the 2024 presidential election. Her decision is driven by her dissatisfaction with the status quo and her desire to offer voters a viable alternative to the established political establishment.
Stein's previous presidential campaigns, in 2016 and 2012, did not garner significant popular support. However, her recent comments have sparked a renewed debate about the role of third-party candidates in the American electoral process.
The DNC's alleged attempt to undermine third-party competition has raised concerns about the fairness and openness of the political system. Stein's allegations highlight the need for transparency and accountability in the conduct of major political organizations.
As the 2024 election approaches, it remains to be seen how the DNC will respond to Stein's accusations and whether third-party candidates will face additional obstacles in their pursuit of electoral success.
