Fox News host Sean Hannity is calling on the media to hold Vice President Kamala Harris accountable, saying she has "a lot to answer for" ahead of the 2024 election.
Hannity made the comments on his show "Hannity" on Monday night, saying that the media has been ignoring Harris's record and giving her a pass on her failures.
Hannity Calls for Media to Hold Harris Accountable
"The media needs to demand answers," Hannity said. "The media mob so far refuses to challenge Kamala Harris, and are just basically an extension of her press office."
Hannity pointed to a recent New York Times guest essay by the outlet's former L.A. bureau chief, which criticized Harris for not answering direct questions from the press.
"She's not even being asked the right questions," Hannity said. "In the essay, he says it would 'go a long way for her to offer some direct and succinct answers to questions about her plans.'"
Hannity also criticized Harris for her handling of the border crisis, the withdrawal from Afghanistan, and the administration's economic policies.
"She's been a disaster on every single issue," Hannity said. "The American people deserve better than this."
Hannity's comments come as Harris has been facing increasing scrutiny from the media and the public. A recent poll found that only 28% of Americans approve of the job she is doing as vice president.
Harris's low approval ratings have raised questions about her political future. Some Democrats are reportedly considering challenging her in the 2024 Democratic primary.
Hannity's call for the media to hold Harris accountable is likely to resonate with Republicans, who have been critical of the vice president since she took office.
The media has a responsibility to hold all elected officials accountable, regardless of their party. Harris has been in office for nearly two years, and she has a lot to answer for. It is time for the media to start asking her tough questions and holding her accountable for her record.
