Vice President Harris' support for a Palestinian state has sparked concern among Israeli and American experts, who warn that it could destabilize the Middle East and lead to increased terrorism.
Vice President Harris' endorsement of a Palestinian state during the recent presidential debate has drawn sharp criticism from Israeli and American experts. They argue that such a solution would further destabilize the Middle East and bring about additional terrorism.
"After Oct. 7th, the two-state became a dead letter," said David Friedman, former U.S. ambassador to Israel. "A Palestinian state between Israel and Jordan will destabilize both countries and bring only additional terror and misery."

Friedman, who authored the book "One Jewish State," believes that Harris should "stop parroting failed theories" and allow Israel to reach a solution on its own.
Jonathan Conricus, a senior fellow at the Foundation for Defense of Democracies, agrees with Friedman's assessment. He argues that the two-state solution was feasible 31 years ago, but multiple Palestinian rejections of peace offers have rendered it unrealistic.

"Polling of the Palestinian population in Gaza and Palestinian Authority-controlled areas shows clear popular Palestinian support for Hamas," said Conricus. "This indicates that the Palestinian population supports the genocidal vision of annihilating Israel through jihad."
Former Deputy Assistant Secretary of State Joel Rubin believes that the two-state solution is still achievable, but it requires political will and the eradication of extremism.

"There is no reason that it can’t be done with the Palestinians as long as the political will is there, extremism is rooted out and security arrangements are solid," said Rubin.
However, Rubin acknowledges that the current situation is not conducive to envisioning a peaceful endgame.

The Harris campaign has not responded to requests for comment.
Vice President Harris and President Biden have both provided significant funding to the Palestinian Authority (PA), led by Mahmoud Abbas. While Abbas is considered a moderate compared to Hamas, he supports stipends for convicted Palestinian terrorists and their families, known as the "pay for slay" system.

Itamar Marcus, director of Palestinian Media Watch, estimates that the PA pays $300 million annually in salaries to imprisoned terrorists and martyrs' families, partly funded by U.S. aid.
In a recent speech to the Turkish Parliament, Abbas stated that "America is the plague" and "We implement Shari'a law: victory or martyrdom."

Experts fear that Harris' endorsement of a Palestinian state, coupled with the ongoing funding of the PA, could embolden terrorist groups and prolong the conflict in the Middle East.
