Despite Trump's appeal to blue-collar voters in 2016, rallygoers in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, express confidence that Vice President Kamala Harris will reconnect with working-class voters in her bid for the presidency.
In the heart of Luzerne County, Pennsylvania, a region that has traditionally supported Democrats but swung towards Trump in 2016, Vice President Kamala Harris held a rally last week to gauge the sentiments of voters. Despite the former president's appeal to blue-collar workers in the area, many attendees expressed optimism that Harris would regain the support of the working class.
Jill Purdy, a teacher from Northampton County, believes Harris's focus on addressing economic concerns and her experience in foreign affairs are her strengths. She highlighted Harris's ability to articulate a clear plan, a contrast to Trump's vague promises.

Northampton County, once a hub of industrial activity, now faces economic challenges as the steel industry has declined. Voters like Purdy believe that Harris's plans for economic revitalization would benefit the region.
Despite Trump's overtures to energy and autoworkers, Purdy remains skeptical of his sincerity. She believes that Harris offers a more logical approach to these issues, even though she has adjusted her stance on fracking.

Christian and Annette, rallygoers from Hanover Township, echoed Purdy's concerns about Trump's policies. They criticized his handling of gas prices and the affordability crisis, attributing the former president's low gas prices during his term to reduced demand due to the pandemic.
On Franklin Street, Joe Granteed stood with a sign warning rallygoers against supporting Harris. He believes that Harris is desperate for Pennsylvania's votes but that Trump has a strong hold on the state.

Kerry Jones from Dallas believes that Harris's commitment to the working class sets her apart. She commended Harris's housing plan, envisioning it as a way to support her daughters' independence.
