A recent Fox News survey reveals a tight race in Pennsylvania between Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump, with both candidates locked at 49-49%. While the results mirror the 2020 election outcomes, there are notable shifts in voting patterns.

A recent Fox News survey conducted in Pennsylvania reveals a dead heat between Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump, with both candidates polling at 49%. This result is largely unchanged from the 2020 election, where Joe Biden narrowly defeated Trump by a margin of 49.85% to 48.69%.

However, the survey also suggests that Democrats may be in a stronger position than they were in April, when Biden and Trump were tied at 48-48%. Harris has managed to hold on to most of Biden's coalition, while Trump's groups have remained firm.

There are a few key shifts in voting patterns since April. Trump has closed the gap with voters under 30 (-27 points in April to -4 points today), voters 65 and over (-5 to -1), suburban women (-32 to -12), those with a college degree (-18 to -10), and has widened it slightly among Independents (+8 to +9).

Harris, on the other hand, has narrowed the gap among White men without a degree (-34 points to -28 points).

In terms of motivation, seven in 10 Pennsylvanians are extremely motivated to vote this year, with Democrats slightly more enthusiastic (75%) than Republicans (72%). Independents, however, are less enthused at 43%.

The expanded ballot shows Harris with a 2-point edge (45% to 43% for Trump). However, third parties could potentially hurt Trump as 10% of his two-way supporters go for someone else compared to 7% of Harris' supporters.

Harris' favorability rating among Pennsylvania voters is 49-49%, while Trump's is 46-53%. Notably, Harris' favorability rating is higher than Biden's (41% favorable, 57% unfavorable).

Among those who have negative views of both Biden and Trump, Harris has a 41-point advantage over Trump, which is significantly higher than Biden's 27-point lead in April.

Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro, who is considered a potential running mate for Harris, has a 61% favorable rating, the highest of any individual tested in the survey. In a hypothetical matchup against Trump, Shapiro leads by 54% to 44%.

The survey also reveals that Biden's job approval rating has declined slightly since April, with 44% approving and 56% disapproving. However, it is important to note that voters who somewhat disapprove of Biden only favor Trump by 5 points.

The economy emerged as the most important issue for voters (40%), with three times as many voters saying they are falling behind financially (44%) rather than getting ahead (14%). Immigration (16%) and abortion (15%) were the only other issues in double digits.

In the Senate race, incumbent Democratic Senator Bob Casey leads Republican challenger David McCormick by 13 points. However, it is important to note that Casey also performs better than Harris against Trump, with Casey receiving 55% support and McCormick trailing at 42%.
