House Speaker Mike Johnson joins 'Fox News Sunday' to discuss the White House rejecting a Republican bill to sanction the ICC after it put out arrest warrants on Israeli officials.

House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) stated that if Republicans are the only ones that support the bill to sanction the ICC, they will put it forward regardless. This comes after the White House opposed the Republican-led bill that sought to sanction the International Criminal Court (ICC) for issuing arrest warrants for Israeli officials.

The ICC had issued arrest warrants for former Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Benny Gantz, accusing them of war crimes during the 2014 Gaza conflict. The White House, however, stated that it disagreed with the ICC's decision but did not support the Republican-led bill.

Speaker Johnson expressed his dissatisfaction with the White House's stance, arguing that the ICC's actions were an "abuse" and that the US should stand with its "most important ally in the Middle East." He also criticized Senator Bernie Sanders (I-VT) for aligning with Hamas and the Iranian regime by opposing a resolution to invite Prime Minister Netanyahu to address Congress.

Johnson emphasized that his priority is to ensure that the border with Mexico remains secure and that he believes the Biden administration's actions have created a "catastrophic" situation. He further stated that Republicans would use their oversight powers to investigate the actions of prosecutors who have targeted political opponents, including former President Donald Trump.

In response to a question about whether Republicans should use similar tactics as Democrats in pursuing legal action against political opponents, Johnson stated that the GOP is a "rule of law party" and would not engage in chaotic behavior. He emphasized that Republicans would use their oversight responsibilities to hold the Biden administration accountable.

Johnson also commented on Trump's guilty verdict in the New York hush money trial, expressing his belief that the court system had been weaponized for political purposes. He suggested that the Supreme Court should intervene, stating that he believes the justices are "deeply concerned" about the issue.

In terms of Trump's potential presidential campaign, Johnson believes that Trump's base will be motivated by the verdict, but that he must also reach out to those who may not support him. He declined to comment on whether he would support Trump as a potential vice president, stating that the voters had a preference for Trump as the leader of the party.
