"I predict greatness for this team," Hogan told reporters via MLive.com. "I might be the new mascot, brother, might just have to lead the charge."
Hogan praised Campbell's energy and charisma, saying that he has the "it factor." He even joked that Campbell would have been a great tag-team partner in the WWE.

"I just wish he would have been my tag-team partner," Hogan said. "He's so full of it, I'd let him do all the work in the ring and beat the guys up, then give me the tag. I'd drop the leg and steal all the glory.
"Yeah, he could have been a wrestler, no doubt. He might have missed his calling."

When asked what Campbell's wrestling name could have been, Hogan came up with "Dirty Dan" and predicted that fans would go crazy for "Campbell Mania," an ode to his own "Hulkamania."
Hogan also couldn't resist delivering a WWE promo with Campbell at his side.
"My new tag-team partner, Campbell Mania, brother, is going to run wild this year," Hogan said, wearing a Honolulu blue bandana to match the Lions' team color. "Super Bowl, nothing but greatness, nothing but victory. So, whatcha gonna do when the Detroit Lions and Campbell Mania runs wild on you, brother? Whatcha gonna do?!"
Campbell, who led the Lions to their first NFC North title in nearly three decades last season, seemed to appreciate Hogan's enthusiasm and said he was looking forward to a great season.
"I'm just trying to do my job and win some games," Campbell said. "But I appreciate the support from Hulk Hogan. He's a legend in the wrestling business, and it means a lot to have him in our corner."
Hogan's visit to Lions training camp was a reminder of the excitement surrounding the team this season. After years of struggles, the Lions are poised to make a run at the Super Bowl, and they have a new fan in Hulk Hogan.
"I'm telling you, this team is going to be special," Hogan said. "Campbell is the real deal, and I can't wait to see what they do this year."
