After the conviction of Hunter Biden in Delaware, a juror has spoken out, affirming that political biases did not impact the verdict. The trial, which centered around a 2018 gun purchase and possession while using illegal drugs, resulted in three guilty counts for the president's sole surviving son.

In an interview with Fox News, juror #10 emphasized that the jury remained impartial and focused solely on the evidence presented during the trial. "Politics played no part in this," she stated.

President Biden issued a heartfelt statement following the verdict, expressing both love for his son and respect for the judicial process. "I am the President, but I am also a Dad," he said. "Jill and I love our son, and we are so proud of the man he is today."

Despite the personal and emotional toll the case has taken on President Biden, political experts predict minimal impact on his 2024 re-election campaign. Veteran political scientist Wayne Lesperance believes voters will distinguish between the father and son, while Republican strategist Ryan Williams expects the convictions to have limited electoral consequences.

"People aren't going to vote for or against Joe Biden based on his son's actions," Williams said.

President Biden has repeatedly stated that he would not pardon his son if he were convicted. However, in his post-verdict statement, he added, "I will accept the outcome of this case and will continue to respect the judicial process as Hunter considers an appeal."

This stance contrasts with former President Donald Trump's denunciations of his own recent trial as rigged and a sham. Trump was convicted of falsifying business records in relation to payments made to Stormy Daniels during the 2016 election.

Experts argue that Hunter Biden's convictions may undermine Trump's claims of political bias within the Department of Justice. "It's difficult to imagine how Republicans can claim bias as they did following the Trump verdict when today's conviction involved the son of the sitting Democratic president," said Lesperance.

Hunter Biden is expected to be sentenced just days before the November presidential election. He also faces a second trial in California over his failure to pay taxes.

The guilty verdicts have provided ammunition for Trump and his allies, who aim to conflate the former president's convictions with those of Hunter Biden. However, Democratic operative Joe Caiazzo dismisses this comparison as a "false equivalent," emphasizing that Hunter Biden is not on the ballot.

"The Trump campaign is going to try to use this as a political football, which is disturbing, disgusting, and dishonest," Caiazzo said.

The ongoing legal proceedings surrounding Hunter Biden and the potential political implications will continue to be closely watched in the lead-up to the 2024 presidential election.
