The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) and Israel Security Agency (ISA) announced the successful rescue of an Israeli hostage who had been held captive by Hamas for more than 320 days, bringing him back to his family in Israel. The operation was part of the IDF's ongoing covert operations deep within the Gaza Strip.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) and Israel Security Agency (ISA) announced Tuesday that another hostage taken during the Oct. 7 terrorist attack has been rescued.

The rescued hostage, Qaid Farhan Alkadi, 52, is an Israeli citizen from Rahat. He was taken captive during a Hamas attack on an Israeli military outpost near the Gaza border.

Minister of Defense Yoav Gallant praised the IDF and ISA for their daring and courageous efforts in rescuing Alkadi from Hamas captivity. "This operation is a testament to the IDF's unwavering commitment to bringing our hostages home," Gallant said.

According to reports, Alkadi was held hostage in Gaza for almost a year. The nature of the rescue operation remains classified for security reasons.

Alkadi was rescued by a mixed company of Israeli combatants, including members of the 401st Brigade, 162nd Division, and Shayetet 13, Israel's elite naval commando unit. Members of the Yahalom engineering combat spec-ops unit and intelligence operatives from the ISA also contributed to the rescue.

Alkadi is currently being held in a hospital for medical care and is undergoing extensive health checks. He is reported to be in stable condition.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu welcomed Alkadi's rescue, saying, "Welcome home, Farhan Kadi. I congratulate the IDF and Shin Bet on another successful rescue operation."

Netanyahu emphasized the government's commitment to securing the release of all Israeli hostages held by terrorists in Gaza. "We will not rest until we bring everyone home," he said.

Following the rescue of Alkadi, 108 Israeli hostages remain under terrorists' control in the Gaza Strip. 36 are confirmed dead. The vast majority were taken during the Oct. 7 attack last year and have been held for over 320 days.

The IDF and ISA continue to conduct covert operations to rescue Israeli hostages and bring them back to safety. These operations are often complex and dangerous, but the IDF remains steadfast in its commitment to securing the release of all Israeli hostages.
