A woman in Illinois has been arrested and charged with several offenses after allegedly fighting with and injuring an elementary school principal during a meeting at the school. The incident reportedly occurred after the principal informed the woman that police would be called due to her allegedly dropping baggies of suspected cocaine.

Illinois Woman Arrested After Allegedly Assaulting Elementary School Principal Over Cocaine
According to reports, the incident involving Shakeda Barfield took place on Wednesday morning at Welsh Elementary School in Rockford, Illinois. The altercation reportedly began when Barfield, 33, dropped baggies of suspected cocaine during a meeting with the principal. When the principal picked up the baggies, Barfield allegedly became upset and began to assault him.
Witnesses reported that Barfield punched the principal several times in the face, scratched his face and arms, bit him, and used his tie to strangle him. The principal reportedly suffered non-life-threatening injuries during the incident.

As the brawl unfolded, the school was temporarily placed on lockdown. Police were called to the scene and arrested Barfield. She is now facing charges of possession of a controlled substance, aggravated battery to a school employee, and disorderly conduct.
As of Saturday, Barfield is being held without bond at the Winnebago County Jail.
