Despite the severity of the crash, Siegel was able to walk away from the incident without any major injuries. After being evaluated at the infield care center, he spoke with reporters to express his disappointment. "Disappointed," Siegel said. "Feel bad for the team. It's been working so hard for so long for this. Just kind of threw it away. Not at all happy about that one."

Siegel elaborated on his feelings in a post on his Instagram Stories, writing, "Not what we wanted or needed today. Thanks for all the messages, we'll be back in the morning." The crash occurred during a crucial practice session ahead of the upcoming Indianapolis 500, which is scheduled to take place next weekend.

Each team participating in the race is aiming to build momentum and fine-tune their cars before the main event. NASCAR star Kyle Larson is among those seeking to make history by pulling double duty and competing in both the Indy 500 and the Coca-Cola 600 in Charlotte, North Carolina.

After Friday's practice session, Larson expressed satisfaction with his McLaren vehicle's performance, stating, "Today went a lot smoother — more so as planned — where yesterday did not. I thought with the forecast being good I would get lots of laps (on Thursday), but (I) did not. So I was pretty frustrated with things yesterday, but all went smooth, and it’s good to just get some reps."

Indy 500 qualifying is scheduled for Saturday, with the 108th running of the race taking place next weekend. Last season, Josef Newgarden emerged victorious, while Alex Palou secured the pole position. The Associated Press contributed to this report.
