The announcement of the postponement was made by Most Valuable Promotions (MVP) on Friday. According to MVP, Tyson underwent a follow-up consultation with medical professionals on Thursday, who recommended that he undergo minimal to light training for the next few weeks. This would allow Tyson to return to full training with no limitations after the recovery period.

"Both Mike and Jake are in agreement that it is only fair to ensure that both athletes have equal training time to prepare for this important match and are able to compete at the highest level," MVP said in a statement. "The health and well-being of athletes is our top priority, and we fully support Mike in taking the necessary time to allow him to perform at the level he expects of himself."

Tyson expressed his disappointment in the postponement but emphasized the importance of his health. "Unfortunately, due to my ulcer flare-up, I have been advised by my doctor to lighten my training for a few weeks to rest and recover," Tyson said. "My body is in better overall shape than it has been since the 1990s, and I will be back to my full training schedule soon."

Tyson also addressed Paul directly, saying, "Jake Paul, this may have bought you some time, but in the end, you will still be knocked out and out of boxing for good. I appreciate everyone's patience and can't wait to deliver an unforgettable performance later this year."

Paul, in turn, expressed his support for the postponement. "I fully support postponing the event so Mike Tyson has no excuses come fight night," Paul said. "My fans know I don't want to face Iron Mike at anything but his best, but let there be no mistake – when he steps into the ring with me, I will be ready to claim my W with a sensational finish."

Tyson's representatives told the New York Post that the 57-year-old boxing legend became nauseous and dizzy on a flight from Miami to Los Angeles. In Touch Weekly first reported the medical scare, describing it as a "medical emergency." Paramedics boarded the plane to assist Tyson, and the incident reportedly delayed passengers from leaving for 25 minutes.

Some have questioned whether Tyson can physically recover enough to get back into the ring. He will turn 58 next month and has openly admitted that his body feels "like s--- right now" with soreness. The fight was announced in March and was to be streamed on Netflix. Follow Fox News Digital's sports coverage on X and subscribe to the Fox News Sports Huddle newsletter.
