Originally scheduled for July 20, the much-anticipated boxing match between Jake Paul and Mike Tyson has been postponed to November 15 due to a medical scare involving Tyson. However, as the new fight date approaches, another boxing superstar has emerged as a potential contender to face Paul—female boxing champion Claressa Shields.

Shields, a multi-division world champion and one of the most decorated female boxers of all time, has publicly challenged Paul to a fight. Speaking to TMZ Sports, Shields expressed her confidence in defeating the YouTuber-turned-boxer, stating, "The offer is always up there if Jake Paul wanna scrap with me. I don't think that he's that good of a boxer."

The 27-year-old Shields has an unblemished professional record of 14-0, capturing world titles in multiple weight classes, including the WBA, WBC, IBF, WBO, WBF, and The Ring female middleweight titles. In contrast, Paul has a professional record of 9-1 with six knockouts.

Despite Paul's recent string of first-round knockout victories, Shields remains unimpressed, asserting that Paul's boxing skills fall short of her own. "I'm never ever going to say or even feel that Jake Paul can beat me in a boxing match because he can't," said Shields. "You can't call me a loser because you don't box better than me."

Shields' animosity towards Paul stems from a previous incident in which Paul allegedly attempted to kick her while she was on the ground. She also expressed her disapproval of Paul's comments labeling her a "loser" after her split-decision loss in her MMA debut.

However, Shields acknowledges Paul's role in elevating the profile of fellow female fighter Amanda Serrano. Paul's undercard for his fight against Tyson will feature Serrano's rematch against Katie Taylor, a historic event that will mark the second female main event in Madison Square Garden history.

Despite her unwavering belief in her own superiority over Paul, Shields still credits him for his contribution to the sport. "I'm happy that he's bringing eyes to Amanda Serrano," said Shields. "I'm happy that he's doing his thing."

As the boxing world eagerly anticipates the rescheduled Paul-Tyson showdown, the prospect of a future clash between Paul and Shields adds an intriguing twist to the landscape. Whether or not Paul accepts Shields' challenge remains to be seen, but one thing is certain: the female boxing superstar is more than ready to step into the ring and prove her dominance.
