In a candid revelation on her "MeSsy" podcast, "Sopranos" star Jamie-Lynn Sigler has shared a harrowing experience that occurred less than a year ago. Following a spiritual retreat in India, Sigler faced a near-fatal complication from surgery.

"I had a very bad reaction to a surgery and got sepsis and was in the hospital and almost died," Sigler said. "I never told anybody this. A year ago I was in a hospital this much away from death."

The 42-year-old actress kept this life-threatening experience a secret until now. Diagnosed with multiple sclerosis (MS) at the age of 20, Sigler has been living with the disease for over two decades. She has been vocal about the challenges of parenting with MS and the impact it has had on her life.

Sigler described the year following her near-death experience as one of intense grief. However, she found solace in the lessons learned during her spiritual retreat in India.

Jamie-Lynn Sigler Reveals Near-Death Experience:

"I had never in my life been more sad, felt more low. But what I learned from India was I had an inability to escape it," she said. "I had to sit in it. I would scream in pillows, I would cry to girlfriends. I reached out, I sat by myself, I got a therapist. I did all of these things I had never really done before and went through this process that was absolutely necessary."

Sigler has always been open about her struggles with MS and the impact it has on her family. She credits her personal growth and healing to confronting her emotions and seeking support.

"You have to bring it to the light," she said. "You have to allow yourself to feel that stuff."

Sigler's vulnerability and honesty have resonated with many listeners, highlighting the importance of mental health and emotional well-being.

"I really don’t know how I would have found the person that I am today without it. And I’m so grateful for it," said Sigler, referring to her MS diagnosis. "But I feel myself, like, leveling up and moving forward as a human being, but my body not following me, and it’s really, that’s my struggle now."

Despite the limitations imposed by MS, Sigler remains hopeful and continues to explore alternative healing methods. She believes that witnessing miraculous healing would have a profound impact on her children and their lives.

"I think it would be really cool for my kids to witness miraculous healing, too, how they could take that throughout their life," she said. "I have, like, my vision that I always hold on to that I try to see when I meditate or anything, and it's always just me running with them."

Sigler's journey is a testament to the power of resilience, strength, and emotional healing. By sharing her story, she inspires others to embrace their vulnerabilities, seek support, and never give up on their dreams.
