Jane's Addiction frontman Perry Farrell and guitarist Dave Navarro have been involved in an onstage altercation that has resulted in the band canceling their upcoming show.
Jane's Addiction has issued an apology for an onstage brawl between frontman Perry Farrell and guitarist Dave Navarro that occurred during their performance at the Lender Pavilion in Boston on Friday night.
"We want to extend a heartfelt apology to our fans for the events that unfolded last night," the band wrote in a statement shared on their Instagram story. "As a result, we will be canceling tomorrow night's show in Bridgeport."

The incident occurred during the band's performance of their song, "Ocean Size." Farrell, who appeared agitated, forcefully bumped into Navarro while screaming at him. Navarro attempted to keep his frontman at bay, but Farrell threw a punch at him. Farrell was restrained and led offstage, and the venue went dark, abruptly ending the show.
Jane's Addiction offered no additional details about the altercation in their apology statement, but Farrell's wife, Etty Lau, provided insight into what she believed happened.

Lau posted a lengthy message on Instagram, alleging that there had been tensions between the band members and that the magic that once made the band dynamic had been replaced by animosity. She wrote that Farrell felt his voice was being drowned out by the band's volume and that he had been suffering from tinnitus and a sore throat.
Lau also claimed that the band started "Ocean Size" before Farrell was ready and that he couldn't hear himself over the loud instruments. She wrote that Farrell "lost it" when audience members in the front row began complaining about the volume.

Lau further alleged that bassist Eric Avery "won the fight" after physically confronting Farrell.
Jane's Addiction's management has not yet released any further statements about the incident or the status of their upcoming shows. However, the band's scheduled performance in Connecticut on Saturday night has been canceled.
