Vice presidential candidate JD Vance vehemently condemned attacks against his wife, Usha, over her Indian heritage, labeling them as "disgraceful" and emphasizing her exceptional qualities.

Senator JD Vance, the Republican vice presidential nominee, fiercely defended his wife, Usha, against vile attacks targeting her Indian heritage during an interview on CBS' "Face the Nation."

"It's disgraceful," Vance declared, expressing his deep concern over the nature of public discourse in America. "I love my wife. I'm very proud of her. I'm extremely lucky to have met her and to have gotten the chance to build a life with her."

Usha Vance, an accomplished attorney and daughter of Indian immigrants, has faced unwarranted criticism and bigotry due to her ethnicity. Vance adamantly denounced such attacks, stating that they are both unwarranted and unwelcome.

"People want to attack me, attack my policy views, they're welcome to. I signed up for it. My wife didn't sign up for it," Vance asserted. "And by the way, she's way out of their league...," he added, "so I wish they would just keep their mouth shut, or at least focus on me."

Vance acknowledged the toll such attacks can take on his family, admitting that it can be infuriating at times. However, he emphasized the resilience of his wife and her understanding of the sacrifices that come with his political career.

"When people attack your family… for something that no person can control," Vance lamented, "Yeah, I get pissed off sometimes, certainly."

Usha Vance recently shared her own perspective on navigating the negative press coverage surrounding her and her husband. She acknowledged the importance of maintaining composure and developing resilience.

"I've gotten kind of accustomed to it and grown a bit of a thick skin to it. And so I just try to not let it affect the way that I live," she said.

Usha Vance, née Chilukuri, was born in 1986 and raised in San Diego, California. She attended Yale Law School, where she met JD Vance. Prior to law school, she earned a bachelor's degree in history from Yale and a master's in Philosophy from the University of Cambridge.

Her impressive career includes clerkships for Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts and Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh during his tenure on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit.

The couple married in 2014 and have three children together: sons Ewan and Vivek, and daughter Mirabel.
