Over a year since his harrowing snowplow accident, Jeremy Renner has dedicated himself to an arduous recovery, revealing the scars and challenges he faced in returning to work on "Mayor of Kingstown."
Jeremy Renner has faced an arduous journey back to fitness after his near-fatal snowplow accident in January 2023. In a candid interview with Men's Health, the "Mayor of Kingstown" star shared the physical, mental, and emotional toll the incident took on him, as well as the grueling rehabilitation process that followed.
Just months after the accident, Renner returned to work on Season 3 of "Mayor of Kingstown," a feat that required immense determination and resilience. "Four months of abuse," he said, referring to his intensive workouts with personal trainer Cat Cantella. "Physical, mental, emotional. But I feel great and I look great!"

Despite his progress, Renner admitted that returning to work was far from easy. "I was pretty f---ing fragile when we started on Jan. 8. We’re walking around on ice, and I have no energy," he recalled. "I was falling asleep. But I think it’ll be the best season yet because of it."
Renner's commitment extended beyond his physical recovery. He also struggled with mental blockages and a lack of interest in "fiction" shows. "I almost pulled shoot and doing this show," he confessed. "Like, ‘Oh wait, I don’t give a s--- about fiction!’ Bulls--- words and bulls--- stories and bulls--- character. It’s all bulls---. I gotta live in real reality here..."

To overcome this mental hurdle, Renner shifted his perspective. "I’m coming to Pittsburgh to recover in my body and get better every f---ing day, and I’m gonna do this show on the side. Instead of it being the other way around," he explained.
Renner suffered more than 30 broken bones, blunt chest trauma, and orthopedic injuries after being run over by his own Snowcat. Bodycam footage from the incident showed the horrific extent of his injuries.

Despite the severe trauma, Renner remained conscious and received immediate medical attention. He later updated his fans on his recovery progress through social media, showing his resilience and determination.
"There’s a lot of people that love me. And I had no idea," Renner said. "I had to learn how to receive all this love, and it’s not easy. From people you don’t even know, even. "Why is this accident such a thing? But then I said, ‘F---, stop asking why. Just receive it.’ I was famous for having a bow and arrow; now I’m famous for overcoming something as a man."
