Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones, who also serves as the team's general manager, has an emphatic defense of his leadership role.

Jerry Jones, the 81-year-old owner of the Dallas Cowboys, has faced questions about whether he should remain the sole decision-maker for his franchise. Jones, who bought the Cowboys in 1989, also serves as the team's general manager, a unique arrangement in today's NFL.

In a recent interview, Jones defended his role with an expletive-filled response. "I've done it all," he told DLLS. "I have an [inordinate] amount of confidence that, f---, if anybody can figure out how to get this s--- done, I can figure out how to get it done."

Jones has been notorious for being the man everything runs through with the Cowboys, who rank as the most valuable team in the NFL. He acknowledges that he's far from perfect, but he believes no one can do the job better than him.

"There's nobody living that's out cutting and shooting that can't give you a bunch of times they busted their ass," he said. "So, hell no, there's nobody that could f---ing come in here and do all the contracts ... and be a GM any better than I can."

One of Jones' recent moves was reaching an agreement with star receiver CeeDee Lamb on a lucrative extension that makes him the highest-paid receiver in franchise history. However, Jones created a public rift when he initially said he had "no urgency" to get a deal done.

Jones also has quarterback Dak Prescott and head coach Mike McCarthy on expiring deals entering the regular season. Despite the potential for turnover, Jones remains adamant that he is the only one who should make the final calls.

"Plus, I'm where the buck stops," he said. "When it f---s up, I got to cover it. And so, there you can't give anybody enough, can't give. There's nobody can do it."

Jones' leadership has been recognized by the NFL, with his induction into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2017. He bought the Cowboys for $150 million, and they are currently worth $9 billion, according to Forbes.

Despite his age, Jones believes he is still capable of running the team effectively. "I'm emotional about it sometimes," he said. "Well, running this thing, that's who I want to make the last call. Now, when I can't f---ing think, when I'm old, and I can't even do it ... but I'm a long way from not being able to do it, too."

Whether Jones' confidence in his abilities is well-founded remains to be seen. The Cowboys have not reached an NFC Championship Game since the 1995 season, and their last Super Bowl appearance was in 1996. Jones knows he has made mistakes in the past, but he is determined to continue making the final calls for as long as he can.
