Dallas Cowboys owner and general manager Jerry Jones expressed his desire to win another Super Bowl, refuting claims that he is more focused on making money.

The Dallas Cowboys have not graced the Super Bowl stage since their triumph in 1996, yet they have emerged as the most valuable franchise in professional sports. With a valuation of $10 billion, the Cowboys have reached unprecedented heights in the financial realm. However, their elusive quest for another Super Bowl trophy has left many wondering if owner Jerry Jones' priorities lie in monetary success or on-field glory.

Jones has recently dispelled such notions, asserting that winning a Super Bowl holds paramount importance to him. In an interview on "The Stephen A. Smith Show," he declared, "What's missing here is the fact that maybe someone thinks that because I don't want to win a ballgame, I don't want to win a Super Bowl, as much as I don't want to make a buck. That's bull stuff, that really is."

Jones' passion for the game of football outweighs his financial ambitions. In his own words, he stated, "I told my team, we just finished training camp, but we opened training camp, and I told my team and coaches, ‘Yeah, I could be anywhere in the world I want to be. I could be. I don't want to be anywhere else. I want to be right here, with y'all. I want to be out here, and I want to be agonizing with us vicariously — not in your shoes, guys. I don't want any of that.'"

"‘But I want to agonize with you on your pursuit to become an NFL player and be a part of the Cowboys. Because I want to be a part of that feeling when we walk out there together and win it.’ Now money is not that, that's different, Stephen. Much different than that."

Despite the Cowboys' recent struggles, Jones remains optimistic about their chances of returning to the pinnacle of football. Last season, the team went 12-5 and won the NFC East before suffering a disappointing playoff loss to the Green Bay Packers. Jones has since rewarded star wide receiver CeeDee Lamb with a lucrative contract extension, but the quarterback position remains a major question mark.

Dak Prescott, the Cowboys' current signal-caller, is entering the final year of his contract and could command a salary of $55 million to $60 million per season on the open market. While Jones and Prescott have been in contract discussions, a deal has yet to be reached.

Prescott's regular season record as a starter is an impressive 73-41, but his 2-5 playoff record has raised concerns about his ability to lead the Cowboys to a Super Bowl victory. Jones may be willing to sacrifice a significant portion of the Cowboys' value for a Super Bowl, but it remains uncertain whether he will offer Prescott the massive contract he is seeking.

The Cowboys' quest to reclaim Super Bowl glory begins on Sunday when they face the Cleveland Browns. Jones' unwavering desire for another championship is evident, but it remains to be seen whether the team can overcome its recent disappointments and return to the promised land.
